Physical Education and Wellness

Our Physical Education and Wellness programs provide a continuous journey toward personal health, physical literacy, and emotional well-being. Beginning with basic motor skills and the simple joy of movement in elementary school, students advance through team dynamics and strategy in middle school, eventually mastering personalized fitness planning and lifelong wellness habits in high school. By focusing on both the body and the mind at every developmental stage, we empower students to lead active, balanced lives and make informed decisions that support their long-term health.

Wayland Middle School Wellness

At the Middle School, our goal is to bridge the gap between Elementary learning and High School learning. Using the 7 dimensions of Wellness as our guiding principles, we take the gross motor development, movement concepts and general skill development taught in elementary school and refine and build upon them as we move students into becoming lifetime learners and participants in their own Wellness.  We begin to prepare them for the agency that they will have as young adolescents with a focus on healthy decision making so that they can have their best chance at living long, healthy and thriving lives.
